“Y” the Extra Yarn?

Our pre-K friends celebrated the letter “Y” with a reading of one of my favorite Caldecott-awarded books, “Extra Yarn” by Mac Barnett, and learned about the many ways we can use our extra yarn.

After our reading, we went on a scavenger hunt in the yard to find letter “Y” broken branches, painted them yellow and worked on our fine motor by wrapping them with yellow yarn.

These little learners enjoyed making letter “Y” with their bodies, doing a little backyard yoga to finish up our time together.
